Monocytes extravasation through the endothelium is a central event in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. The aim of this study was to investigate the biological impact of the tobacco heating system 2.2 (THS 2.2) aerosol on chemotaxis and migration of monocytic THP-1 cells through a monolayer of human coronary arterial endothelial cells (HCAECs) and compare it with that of 3R4F reference cigarettes. Monocytes migration was measured with conventional and impedance-based systems.
